Is daycare good for my dog?

We understand that choosing the right care for your dog is an important decision, and we are here to help you determine if our environment is the best fit for your pet.

What is Doggy Daycare?
Much like a school or nursery, we provide daytime care that reflects the average working day. Our goal is to ensure your dog is well looked after, entertained, and safe while you are away.

What Happens During the Day?
We offer a balanced schedule of playtime, enrichment activities, and training, alongside essential daytime snoozes. Socializing with friends is a key part of the experience, and we go the extra mile to ensure every dog has a positive stay.
Puppy Care
We welcome puppies from 12 weeks of age, provided they are fully vaccinated. This early stage is vital for developing essential social and life skills.

Is Pawprints Right for Your Dog?
While we pride ourselves on providing a fun and confidence-building environment, daycare is not suitable for every dog. Some individuals or breeds find the environment overstimulating. Our priority is the welfare of all dogs in our care, which is why we assess whether a dog will truly thrive in our environment.
Suitability and Breed Considerations
With over 10 years of experience, we have found that certain natural instincts can be heightened in a daycare setting, potentially leading to stress.

  • Overstimulation: Some dogs find it difficult to “switch off” leading to stress and anxiety.
  • Herding Breeds: Intelligent breeds with strong herding instincts may try to “work” the group, which can lead to frustration for them and stress for their playmates.
  • Prey Drive: High prey drive can sometimes be triggered in a group environment, making it difficult for a dog to relax and enjoy their time with others.

Our “Is Pawprints Right for Me?” approach ensures that every dog we accept is set up for success. We are committed to being honest with you to ensure your dog’s well-being always comes first.
